Food Processing
The Seafood industry is mainly based in Grimsby and has contributed 5,000 jobs to the local area. Although the industry is mainly located in Grimsby the industry can be found in the docks of the port of Hull and a range of jobs in the port is supported by the industry.

Overview
The humber region has had ties to the fishing industry for hundreds of years and it continues to be a major industry for the area. With its close proximately to the North Sea the Humber is an ideal location to land fish in the UK. Although a lot of the fishing industry in Hull has disappeared, in Grimsby the fishing industry is still a main employer. Over recent years the Humber, mainly Grimsby has become the home of UK fish processing. A number of the major fish processing businesses have operations in Grimsby and it is a location where it is easy to export into Europe.

The harbour is home to almost 100 mostly small businesses providing employment for almost 400 people and playing an essential and integral role in the resort’s economy.
The harbour has a total area of about 80 acres (32 ha) and is used by commercial, fishing and pleasure craft. Inshore fishing, particularly for crustaceans and line fish, takes place along the coast. Lobsters, brown and velvet crabs are important to the local fishery.
The harbour is owned by the Scarborough Borough Council and consists of three piers enclosing an outer and an inner basin. The outer basin is mainly used by pleasure boats and the inner basin by commercial fishing and cargo vessels.
Filey Coble Landing is home to approximately 7 traditional fishing cobles. All these vessels are allocated numbered spaces on either side of the roadway on the landing.

Five Star Fish has been situated at its present site since July 1996. It has a 5,000 pallet cold store area, on a 4 acre site on Great Grimsby Business Park.
