Hornsea Project 3

Hornsea Project 3 is a wind farm project being planned by Ørsted and the project will be after Hornsea Project 2. The wind farm will sit next to Hornsea Project 1 and 2 and would become the largest wind farm in the world. The Project is at the Planning stage and a timeline has just been announced and construction is scheduled to start in 2020 if a planning application is successful. The wind farm is planned to be operational by 2025. It has been indicated that any electricity generated would be brought into the Norwich Main National Grid substation and would come ashore at Weybourne. The total area of the wind farm could be 695km2 and the capacity might be around 2,400MW with the possibility of powering over 2 million homes in the UK.
