Westermost Rough

The Westermost Rough wind farm began to be operational from 2015 and has 35 Siemens turbines. The site is owned by DONG Energy, Marubeni Corporation and UK Green Investment Bank and at maximum capacity can generate 210 megawatts of electricity. The farm cost £1 billion. The site is operated by DONG Energy out of the port of Grimsby. The electricity generated by the wind farm is brought ashore north of Tunstall and connects to the Northern Grid at Saltend, East Yorkshire. The wind farm covers an area of 35km2.
