Airports

Yorkshire and the Humber area has three main airports, Leeds/Bradford, Robin Hood near Doncaster and Humberside airport. All three operate passenger and cargo flights but to different degrees.

  • Humberside International Airport has become a major departure point for a number of workers on North Sea oil rigs and is home to a number of helicopters which carry the workers.
  • Doncaster Sheffield Airport near Doncaster which opened in 2005 is developing its facilities both for passengers and cargo in order to attract more customers.
  • Leeds/Bradford Airport is an international airport which has a growing list of destinations and facilities.
