Yorkshire Energy Park

The proposed Yorkshire Energy Park will be located on the former Hedon Aerodrome to the east of Hull. The project, if approved, will contain a data centre, an energy centre that will generate electricity for the National Grid and site occupiers, as well as an education space connected to renewable energy and technology sectors. The project will be a mixture of space for businesses operating in the key strategic sectors for the region. The development is being backed by a consortium of businesses in the region including Sewell Investments Ltd, MS3 Networks and the Chiltern Group.

The development will help the local economy by providing a number of job opportunities for the local area and it is hoped that the development will help attract further investments into the area.

The planning application for the site will be submitted in late 2016 and hopefully a decision on the site will be made in early 2017.

Early proposals for the site are:

  • A mixture of space for businesses who operate in key sectors for the region
  • Educational spaces for the renewables and technology sectors.
  • On site power generation
  • A data centre
