The airport is a key transport hub for the offshore oil and gas industry as well as the growing offshore wind sector. The airport is ideally located to support the transportation of workers to offshore rigs and wind farms in the southern North Sea and given this, the airport has a number of based helicopter companies operating their services out into the North Sea. Significant growth is expected over coming months, particularly in off-shore wind to support the new Hornsea wind farm projects off the east coast of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

Also at the airport is a helicopter training school which has been operating for over 15 years, specialising in a wide range of services from initial licence training to advanced training for current helicopter pilots. The training school hangar has over 950sqm of space to store their aircraft, as well as those of third parties. Humberside airport is also home to the region’s Search & Rescue helicopter base, operated by Bristow Helicopters.

Humberside Airports Business Park is well established with mixed-use accommodation and over 30 businesses on site. The Business Park now enjoys Enterprise Zone status with 4.6 hectares of land available for development. An on-site ‘Hampton by Hilton’ 100-bedroom hotel is due to open shortly and the Nightel Hotel on-site caters specifically for the needs of students and offshore workers.

Humberside Airport is within 3 miles of the motorway network and only 15 miles from Hull, with rail and Intercity connections nearby. It offers a professional & seamless service to support regional businesses, be that heavy & light industry, renewables or the tourism & leisure sectors within Lincolnshire & the East Riding of Yorkshire.
